Why Waste to Energy?

Right now, the world is throwing away its energy. Multiple sources of renewable energy exist in what most people consider garbage, including . . well, garbage! And another item that is often avoided; manure.

Livestock operations around the world generation millions of tons of manure every day; a serious pollution problem when not handled properly. Manure generates methane, a potent greenhouse gas, and a menace of bad odors for surrounding communities. Manure lagoons also tend to leach and spill, contaminating pure groundwater supplies.

Thankfully, manure is far more than a pollution problem. It’s an energy solution, a source of electricity, heat, and a host of other valuable products that can create profit for livestock owners, and clean up our environment all at the same time.
