Collaboration for the Future

High Plains ACT is excited to be collaborating with Omega Dairy to develop the Omega Bioenergy pilot project. Due to its relatively small size, Omega dairy is well suited for testing and demonstrating an innovative, scalable concept in waste-to-energy.

Owner/builder Tom White and manager Curt Miersma bring decades of experience in dairy energy management to the project.


Omega Dairy is a 500 Jersey cow, free stall flush dairy with a parallel milking parlor,  online since February 2008.
The surrounding 450 acres of farmland currently produce alfalfa, corn, wheat, sunflowers and sorghum under 4 center pivots.
